The Journey Begins

I was just diagnosed with Breast Cancer on Friday, January 5, 2007...what a way to start the year! I hope that this blog will be helpful for others as well as a catharsis for myself.

My feelings today: Actually pretty good! I got a good night's sleep last night, which helped immensely. I feel energized today. Friday night was pretty rough. I just never fell into a good deep sleep.

What I did nice for myself: I went for a walk...the weather is pretty nice (in the low 50's), but the weather people call for intense rain tonight. I also finished making a chemo hat in case I need it....all pretty bright colors, and a very soft yarn.

What I did nice for others: I worked on finishing a little sweater and made a matching pair of booties for a K4C charity. They are having a Knithathon today. I also watched football with Mark.

Touching bases: Mark and I had a talk this morning. He is trying to look at the whole picture waaaaaaay down the road. I am trying to get him to look at baby steps/one day at at time. This is really hard on him. This is going to be quite a journey for our marriage. It can only get stronger from here.

What my goals are:

Long Term: Growing old with Mark and rocking in our rocking chairs on the front porch!

Short Term: Finish some sewing projects I started a long time ago.

Plans for tomorrow: Tell Dr. C what is going on.
Dr. appointment at 1:45
